Svalcon Home · energy management

A home that directs its own power

Solar panels, a home battery, an EV charger and a heat pump all meet in the consumer unit. With an energy management package, the consumer unit doesn't just protect them — it also decides where the power goes, automatically and without the manufacturer's cloud.

Where the power comes from and what in the consumer unit handles it

Hover over a source or load in the diagram (or choose a button) — we'll highlight the sections of an example XL consumer unit with solar panels, a home battery, an EV charger and a heat pump.

What it changes at home

Your home uses its own power first

When the panels produce more than the home needs, the hub switches on the heat pump, the water heater or battery charging — before the surplus flows to the grid.

Charging the car at the best time

The car charges from surplus solar power or during cheaper tariff hours, and the charging power drops when you switch on the oven and washing machine — without tripping the breakers.

The house keeps running during a power cut

With a home battery and backup power, the consumer unit disconnects the home from the grid and powers selected circuits — the fridge, lighting, boiler and internet.

We don't quote savings figures: they depend on your tariff, the size of your installation and how you use electricity. We'll show what the consumer unit can do — your installer will work out the numbers.

Two ways: Smart Energy or KNX Energy

Smart Energy

A Home Assistant hub in the consumer unit, connected to the inverter, home battery, EV charger and heat pump. A phone app that works without the internet.

package from PLN 2,990.00 excl. VAT

Configure with Smart Energy

KNX Energy

For homes with wired KNX automation: an energy meter and load control in the same system as the lighting and blinds. Programming is done by an integrator partner.

XL consumer unit with KNX Energy from PLN 10,510.00 excl. VAT

What is KNX

No brand lock-in

We connect devices via open protocols, not manufacturers' apps — so replacing an inverter or charger doesn't mean replacing the consumer unit.

Modbus
A simple, widespread way of reading meters, inverters and batteries — over a cable or the home network.
KNX
An open building automation standard with a separate control cable; devices from many manufacturers talk to each other.
Matter / Home Assistant
Matter is a common language for smart home devices; Home Assistant is open hub software that connects them all locally, at home.
